Cinco de Mayo Parade begins at noon along Fifth Avenue.

From 2000, the Mexican population in New York City has grown by 57.7 percent to 289,755 according to U.S. Census Bureau data compiled in a CUNY report. At this rate Mexicans will become New York City’s largest Latino community in 2024 surpassing those of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent.
