Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum at 1071 Fifth Avenue.

Originally known as the Museum of Non-Objective Painting until the death of its namesake in 1952. The current incarnation was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and opened in 1959. It took Wright 15 years, 700 sketches, and six sets of working drawings to create the museum. The Guggenheim Museum is devoted to the art of the 20th century including New York School luminaries; Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock.
