A bronze sculpture of famed sled dog Balto at East Drive and 67th Street in Central Park.Balto in Central Park comes to mind with the dog show in town.

As show dogs take over Madison Square Garden for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show — a real dog — Balto has had a place of honor in Central Park since 1925. Brooklyn born sculptor Frederick George Richard Roth was commissioned to create a lasting tribute to the sled dogs of Alaska who in 1925 delivered medicine 674 miles in a raging blizzard. On hand for the public unveiling was Balto himself.
