Woodlawn Cemetery covers more than 400 acres in the Bronx. As one of the largest cemeteries in New York City it is also the final resting place of many notable New Yorkers — including Joseph Pulitzer — among the 300,000 interred. Opened in 1863, Woodlawn was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011.
