Designed by Pritzker Prize winner Thom Mayne.41 Cooper Square designed by Thom Mayne opened in 2009.

Peter Cooper who founded the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 1859 on the belief that everyone was entitled to a free college education could never have envisioned 41 Cooper Square. Home to the Albert Nerken School of Engineering, the iconic 41 Cooper Square was also constructed with the environment in mind. In 2010 it was certified LEED Platinum by the U.S. Green Building Council — the highest accolade available and an honor that Peter Cooper would appreciate.
