The statue of Fred Lebow has to be moved once a year.Marathon founder Fred Lebow keeps time in Central Park.

The statue of race founder Fred Lebow goes on a marathon of its own every year during the run-up to the New York City Marathon. With more than 50 permanent statues in central Park a ban was put in place in the 1990s permitting only temporary statuary within the Park. So every year Fred Lebow has to be moved from his usual place alongside Fifth Avenue at E90th Street to the finish line of the marathon at W67th.
