Día de los Muertos is celebrated in Mexico and parts of Central America to honor those who have departed. It falls on two days, November 1 and 2, All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. La Catrina, is an iconic muertos calavera image popularized by Mexican printmaker José Guadalupe Posada. This Catrina was found walking the streets of Greenwich Village after New York’s Halloween parade.
