David Meltzer and Marty EhrlichDavid Meltzer & Marty Ehrlich prep beats for CUNY reading on Fifth Ave.

David Meltzer, the last of the beat generation poets spoke from his latest book, When I Was A Poet at the CUNY Graduate Centre last night. Meltzer, who grew up in Brooklyn, came to prominence with his inclusion in Donald Allen’s The New American Poetry 1945-1960. An author of more than 50 books Meltzer will also be reading at the Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Monday September 26.
